Nominations are now open and will close on 28 February 2023.

November 2022 - Energy bills in private accommodation
As energy prices are increasing, please ensure that you are mindful of your energy usage,
and any caps or fair usage policy you may have in your tenancy agreement. Talk to your
landlord, and check your energy usage now to enable you to try to manage it for the duration
of your tenancy. Make sure you budget for any excess payments required.

There’s plenty of shared student housing in Bangor, so take your time, research, and find
the right accommodation for you.
Search for student housing on . You'll also find a range of
guides on this website such as a house hunting checklist.
If you have any questions about private accommodation, the University's Student Housing
Office and Undeb Bangor will also be on campus tomorrow (Thursday 27th) between
1pm and 3pm in the Foyer, Main University Building as part of their 'Take your time to
sign' housing campaign. Alternatively, please e-mail studenthousing@bangor.ac.uk.

October 2022 - Renting is changing...
From 1st December, The Renting Homes (Wales) Act, will change how we rent in
Wales. This includes how you rent a property both in the private sector and in
University Halls.
So what does this mean for you as a student? Find out what the changes are, by reading
further information here -
To coincide with the start of these changes, bookings for all-inclusive rooms in
University Halls will be available from 1st December.

When house-hunting, you may sometimes come across online scammers trying to trick
would-be tenants into paying up-front fees for a property that doesn't exist.
The University’s Housing Office advise you not to make any payments or sign any
contracts until you have viewed the property and made sure that it is suitable for your
needs. It also recommends that if you are looking for a house, you start your search on
the University's Studentpad website . Landlords have to
agree to compulsory Conditions of Registration before advertising - visit the website for
more information.
